About

The LeperKhanz are a unique band.  Their show is part ancient history, part distant future, and all timeless music.  Blending traditional Irish music, Reggae, Rock and Roll, Disco, Bluegrass, Ska, Classical, Punk Rock, Hip-Hop, Cumbia, and Heavy Metal, there is no way to fully express what their show is in the English language.

A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away………

The LeperKhanz formed in early 2003.  rhY and JP were teaching violin and drumz at the Encinitas School of Music, and St Patrick’z Day was approaching.  Being musicianz and good Irish ladz, they decided to get a show ready in time for the holiday.  That first show, though rough around the edgez (and probably too short), caused fanz to harangue the band memberz as to when the next show would take place.  Next thing you know, the band was on the road in Willie Nelson’z old bus The Grizzly Rose, selling albumz, and lighting the night on fire world wide.

In 2005, They released their first studio album Tiocfaidh Ar La to much critical acclaim, and were even nominated for a San Diego Music Award.  Globe trotting from gig to gig in every climate and region, they succeeded in bringing The LeperKhanz sound nationwide.  Bolstered by their success, they began broadening the music, expanding beyond traditionals and covers, and adding new and awesome musicians to the line up.

Besides violin, drums, bass, and guitar, The Khanz now tour with Trombone, Baritone Sax, Percussion, Trumpet, Tenor Sax, and of course, the mother @#$%ing TUBA!  Hard at work on a new studio release, stay tuned for the new tracks, and of course, COME TO THE SHOW!!!
